Ready For Grade 11 Pre-Calculus Math?

What is a Skill Set?

A skill set is a collection of abilities, knowledge, and competencies that an individual possesses.

I would like to recommend a skill set that will increase the likelihood of success in Math 20-1. If you do not feel confident in any of these individual components, you will find links to video lessons and practice questions to help solidify your understanding. Having a strong base knowledge of prerequisite skills can be a huge advantage as you tackle the rigors of Math 20-1.

Were You Ready For Grade 10 Math?

When beginning grade 10 math, you hopefully had a strong grounding in the skills outlined in the post, “Are You Ready For Grade 10 Math”? https://mathpqjq.com/are-you-ready-for-grade-10-math/

In reality though, many students still lack a degree of compentency in some of these skills (such as fraction operations and exponential rules). They may not be yet firmly embedded within your skill set. As a first point of entry into the preparation for grade 11 pre-calculus math, it would be prudent to ensure understanding of the items outlined in this blog post.

Concepts Vs Procedures

For this recommended skill set, we will use two categories. There are certain key ideas or concepts that need to be understood. As well, the correct execution of important procedures is a vital component.

Concepts

Procedures

The best time to polish any of these skills is prior to beginning the course. Although this will require extra time upfront, it will hopefully save both time and aggravation moving forward. A strong prerequisite skill set will prepare you for success in Math 20-1 and provide a huge dose of confidence. Good luck!
