Domain and range are concepts that weave their way in and out of most high school math courses. Developing a solid foundation of understanding by grade 10, will increase the likelihood of over-all success in your particular math course. A suggested strategy may be new to you.

Domain

• What values for ‘x’ are allowed for a given relation or function?
• It could be the set of real numbers, greater or less than a specific value, or any number in between two values.

Range

• What values for ‘y’ are allowed for a given relation or function?
• It could be the set of real numbers, greater or less than a specific value, or any number in between two values.
