A prime number is a natural number that has only itself and 1 as factors. If a number is not prime, it is composite. All composite numbers can be expressed as a product of prime factors.
We will show two different ways to determine the prime factorization of a number. One way is with a factor tree, and the other is repeated division of prime factors.
Using prime factorization to determine the Least Common Multiple (LCM) will also be discussed.
