Alberta Education recently provided some released items from 2021. Although answers are given for the multiple choice and numerical response questions, detailed solutions are not always readily available.

The 32 multiple choice and numerical response questions are broken into two parts. The first deals with puzzles, set theory, probability and counting methods. The second covers rational expressions and equations, exponents, logarithms and polynomial functions. Sinusoidal functions are covered in the written response section.

We have animated google slides that explain the solution process. As well, there are two videos that take the written slides and delve deeper into truly understanding the concepts being assessed.

The complete test can be found on the Alberta Education website. You could choose to do the test first and then check the solutions, or you follow the slides one question at a time and check each solution as you go. It is up to you!
