Solving Absolute Value Equations
This video demonstrates the process of solving absolute value equations. We are trying to determine values for the letter that makes a true statement. Examples are related to both linear and quadratic functions.
Extraneous Roots
It is very important to verify solutions to check for the possibility of extraneous roots. Sometimes we perform all the correct algebraic steps but the solution does not make sense in the context of the question. This could possibly lead us to an extraneous root as we solve an absolute value equation.
