Math 30-2 Released Items
Although Diploma Exams are secured documents, Alberta Education periodically releases items to assist teachers and students in preparing for an upcoming exam. Typically, these questions are reflective of the provincial standard. They are an extremely valuable source of information in helping to assess the level of expectation.
Answers are provided. However, detailed solutions are not always readily available. When students are given an explanation and a thought process, a natural consequence is a higher degree of understanding. It is now possible to correct errors and to fill in any gaps in comprehension. Detailed solutions become a crucial component within the learning framework.
Here you will find 114 detailed solutions to the Alberta Education Math 30-2 released items for the muliple choice and numerical response questions from the years 2013, 2016, and 2019. They are categorized by topic. Thus, it would be convenient to use this resource for individual unit review and/or end of the year diploma exam review. Animated google slides are used to state the original question and then methodically move through to the solution. Students have the flexibility to look at a question, try it on their own and then check the solution; or, look at a question and follow through the steps on the slides towards the answer. A video is also provided for each set of google slides. Many students prefer an auditory component within their learning style.
